Boy do we have a great deal !!!

Our insurers are so pleased with the way we run the Club that they have rewarded the club members once again with another reduction in the motorcaravan premium. We have to be doing it right.

First: There is to be a reduction in premium, The cost now will make our insurance the best deal in the country. Younger and Older drivers catered for, age 25 to 80 without too much bother, Full Comp. Any Camper up to €75000 before an additional Charges.2% per 1000 thereafter. Special windscreen Cover for the big, big Campers. Awnings covered, generators covered provided that they are IN or fixed to the motorcaravan.

Second: The Members who have cars, (don’t we all) The insured and spouse may now insure the family car with Allianz with a premium reduction of 15% on the car insurance. We have been striving for this for years, it makes sense.

Members who have their household Policy with Allianz will now have contents (personal effects) in their motorcaravan of up to €2000 subject to terms and conditions such as the camper must be secure at all times etc details will be given to all members . You just apply for the Allianz Household all risks, they are now offering the best rates in Ireland through Richardson Insurance and the Club.

Good News for the Bigger Campers with the hugely expensive windscreens, owners now have the option to take an additional cover, on their expensive windscreen ,the cost is only €50 to cover the replacement cost of such an expensive windscreen up to €2000.

Windscreen cover in the normal comprehensive course of events is now increased to €400 from €350.

Members are now being offered through Richardson Insurance 01-2834155 a very special deal on health care with Vivas the Irish Health Care Insurers. Despite the sale of BUPA to Quinn Direct the take up with Vivas will be a good option as Vivas have offered a good deal without being forced to do so.

Motorcaravan Club Ireland

Its with great sadness that I have to announce the passing in peace of a great member Paddy Larkin of Clane. Paddy was great craic, I'll miss the banter whenever he came to renew , and while a relativly new member 2004 he was getting great fun out of his campervan.

Our sincere condolence to his family and especially to Mary his wife. To his daughter Ann her husband Martin and all the family , who incidentially are also members. Would that we all could pass from this word in such a peaceful way. RIP

To all members and visitors using the Tavern Trail please observe that Finnegans Restaurant and Pub on The Tavern Trail page 22 under Limerick, will not make you welcome, we inadvertently published the recommendation by a member and as we have had a communication from the Managing Director Mr David Smiddy General manager /Director that you are not welcome to overnight at this pub, please observe this lest you cause offence.
This was the email we got this afternoon unedited.

"I
am writing regarding a reference to our premises in your publication.
we provide parking facilities to all customers whilst dining in our premises but we do not offer over night accommodation or camping facilities on site, contrary to the extract relaing to our establishment in your publication.
regards
David Smiddy
General Manager/Director"

As you can see ,it did not give the name of the place so I requested where it was and sent the response set out below, we must respect the mans wishes and I hope all readers will give the place a wide berth, the Ball Ally Pub ,The Dunkerrin Arms and the Rackett Hall are only a short distance away and they welcome your custom,
.

David Smiddy General manager/Director Finnegans, email dave@finnigansrestaurant.ie

Thank you for your prompt reply, you must be the only pub in Ireland that does not appreciate business from people who drive, because they are tourists and have motorcaravans, can drink in a bar all evening without fear of section 50 of the road traffic act.
lest it cause you any further concern In compliance with your wishes we have now deleted the offending text from the Tavern Trail and destroyed those already printed, We assure you that all members will be circulated, We will put this on the news room of our web site as of this evening and in its place recommend that the members give Finnegans a wide berth in future, sorry if the Motorcaravan Club of Ireland have caused you any problems and that you don't need the members business.
Best regards
Bill Lupton
President
